We made our second annual trek to Downpour Festival in Great Falls, MT  on Saturday, August 15.  Katie, Desire’, and Ana went with our church‘s youth group on Friday.  The weather was very very cold and very rainy; but the presence of God was very very warm, and the title “Downpour Fest” was quite appropriate in both the physical and spiritual realms.

On Friday, the youth say KJ52, Sanctus Real, and Decyfer Down.  On Saturday, we were blessed with Among the Thirsty, Lincoln Brewster, Plumb, Brock Gill, and Casting Crowns.  WOW!

Here are some blurry pictures.

Clancy School hosted a Spring Concert consisting of three schools. Clancy, Boulder, and Montana City students attended this nice concert on May 19th.  Ana has been playing the clarinet this year and participated in the concert.  Ana and all of the students from the three schools did a fantastic job.

We are definately fans of FIREPROOF the movie around the McDougalls’ Home. If you have seen the movie, you know how moving it was when Caleb was now serving the Lord and waiting on God to move in his marriage as Caleb acted in obedience.  Listen to this great song by John Waller, as played in the movie FIREPROOF.

If you haven’t seen FIREPROOF yet, check out your local churches for viewing events, or rent it from your neighborhood video rental store, or pick up a copy from your favorite Christian book store.  Check out John Waller’s song “While I’m Waiting” by clicking on the video below.

Click the picture to see the Clancy School Christmas Program and our other Christmas Photos.

Last night we went to Clancy School to watch the school’s Christmas program. All of the classes did a great job.  Desire’ was in a “Young Women’s Choir”, Ana sang with her class and also played the clarinet in the band.  Alia also sang with her class.  Carol helped the kindergarten class sing their songs.  They were so cute.

The program ended with a couple of  “All School” songs commemorating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  It was a GRAND finale!

After the program, the children were met with a larger than life Father Christmas.  Wow!  Be sure to see the photo of him!

See some somewhat fuzzy pictures, along with the rest of our 2008 Christmas photos HERE.

Do you want a great new Christmas song? Listen to Francesca Battistelli’“You’re Here”.  What a great song, sung in Mary’s perspective.  God did not leave us alone, “You’re Here”.

“You’re Here” is too new to be on an album but can be downloaded from your favorite on-line music store.

This is from news on her web site:

CHRISTMAS TIME
Garnering even more radio airplay, Battistelli’s two newly recorded Christmas songs – “You’re Here” (written by Battistelli) and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” – are currently being played on stations nationwide. In fact, both songs are so popular that “You’re Here” was the most added Christmas single for the first week of December, while “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” was the 4th highest add, according to Radio & Records (chart below). Not shy to radio charts, Battistelli’s “You’re Here” also debuted at #25 on AC Monitored and #27 at AC Indicator this week. Both Christmas singles are available exclusively on iTunes.

It is not, however, exclusively available from iTunes, as I do not buy from I tunes; and I purchased it DRM Free (No Rediculous Copy Protection) from Amazon.com for ninety-nine cents.

Give “You’re Here” a listen, and realize that as Jesus came as a baby boy, then died for us, He sent His Spirit, and we can still say, “You did not leave us alone. You’re here!.”

I don’t know how I missed this group for so long. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They play a very powerful and almost emotional mixture of classical, hard rock, soft rock, easy listening, and what ever else you would think that wouldn’t go together.  One song in particular, that must be played loudly, is “Christmas Canon Rock” from “The Lost Christmas Eve” album.  Or, Rock Opera as it may be referred to.  Have you ever felt emotion over the music of a song?  I am not talking about the lyrics, but the music.  Feel this song while it is played and see if you don’t agree.
