From Work Pictures

I’ve just returned from three days near the Port of Wildhorse, North of Havre, Montana.  The land is flat and goes forever.  The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful.  Click HERE to see my collection of beautiful Montana scenes that I’ve captured while traveling around the beautiful state of Montana.

I had to go out to Eastern Montana this week for my job. I stayed over night in Glendive.  When I was getting ready to leave the motel, I was greated with the most beautiful sunrise.  Click the picture to see this one and others that I’ve taken while traveling around Beautiful Montana.

I think I see them

Yes, elephant tails!

Elephants passing through Montana?

Elephants passing through Montana?

As I was driving home today, a big blue 18 wheeler passed me. It had open doors on one side, and I could hardly believe what I saw. I happened to have my camera with me, and caught a very blurry picture through the windshield while the truck was turning at an exit in front of me. I followed the truck and it parked in a vacant lot, where I could get proof that I was not seeing things, like “ELEPHANTS” that were not there. Here is the proof, a bunch of elephant tails, in Montana! Click the pictures to see a larger view.

Spring snow storm near Bonner, Montana I travel around the state for my job. I am an Electronice Repair Tech for the State of Montana.  Today, I had to travel to a site near Bonner, Montana.  A strong spring snow storm blew through right at the same time I had to do some repairs at a site.  I do most repairs at the site and out doors.  It was an interesting experience trying to “Solder in a Snow Storm”.  There was no “Solder Smoke” created today; just “Solder Steam”.  I was able to get the job done and get on my way.  HERE are some pictures I took at the site, along with a bunch of other pictures I’ve taken while I travel around the state.  John

As many of you may know, I work for the Montana Department of Transportation.  A video has been produced by MDT called “Room to Live” that describes the importance of seat belts.  This is a very impactful video and I encourage you to watch it.  In your car, there is “Room to Live“… if you have your seatbelt on.

I am privelaged in my job to be able to travel across this beautiful state.  Today, I needed to go down toward Big Sky, and West Yellowstone.  Spring is here, but the snow is still very deep in places.  I don’t know if Big Sky was open for skiing, but it sure looked like there was a large amount of snow on the mountain.

Further down, toward West Yellowstone, I came a cross about a half dozen or so buffalo wandering around the highway.  The one in the picture next to the sign, was gingerly scratching its side against the pole the sign was hung on.  I was sure, the sign was going to come down.

I also saw a hundred or so antelope and a LARGE elk herd of probably more that a hundred!  Yes, Montana is beautiful!

A couple of days ago, before we got our big April snow storm, there was deer a-plenty. Here are some of them wandering around in our yard making our cat Mocco very nervous. After our snow storm, the elk came down near our house. Click HERE to see some pictures of the deer and a video clip we took of the elk.
