Today was a very cold day. The high temperature for the day was around -8 degrees F. Many roads were closed because of near blizzard conditions. This photos is of a collision Monday morning on Highway 12 between Helena and Townsend. The photo was taken with a cell phone by a lady (Angela Paulson) on the highway. It would have been a good day to stay home by the fire and have a cup of hot chocolate. Take a look at this writeup in the Helena Independent Record.

Have you noticed the small controls in the upper right hand corner of each post? These controls help you with viewing the posts. Click on the picture to the left to see a sample of the screen where those small controls are visible.
By clicking the small diamond shape control (which are really two very small arrows facing opposite directions), the sidebar on the right (the right side of the screen with “search” and “catagories” and such) will disappear and the screen will widen to show more of the post on the screen.
By clicking the small box with the “-” in it, the current post that the controls are with, will vanish, except for the title of the post. By clicking on the title of the post, a screen will come up displaying the post. This helps to get rid of screen clutter if you want to read only one post.
Try these controls out. Clicking on a control again, reverses the process of that control.
Now that we have a good amount of snow, and the temperatures finally raised up above zero, the kids took advantage of the day to get some sledding in. I accidently left the lights on, on our snowplow truck, so the battery was dead and I could not plow the driveway before it got packed down. This made a real good sledding hill for the kids. Look closely to the left picture then look at the right one which is zoomed in. It looks like FUN!
I added a page about my Ham Radio history. Check it out by clicking on the Ham Radio link at the top of the page or click HERE.
A few years ago, while going to garage sales, we picked up a movie named “Rigoletto”. We usually don’t pick up movies that we know nothing about, but this one intrigued us. We watched it several times in the past couple of years and viewed it again last night. What a great story! This is what “Feature Films For Families” say about it.
It is a great movie, and talks about the song within us. God has placed a special song within each of our hearts. May our life songs sing praise to You.
One of my daughters bought Leeland’s new CD. They are an up and coming contemporary Christian band that I would guess will come out with some more excellent music. They are touring with Casting Crowns, and Leeland has a video on line of their popular song “Sound of Melodies“. Check them out at http://www.leelandonline.com.
I am testing out some video capabilities on this site. Here is a little entertaining clip. If you know how I love Ham Radio, you might get a chuckle out of this.
Winter has arrived. We have been in desperate need of moisture and now we got a bit. It is very beautiful out today. We hope the kids will be able to enjoy it and do some sledding before it disapears. Here are a couple of pictures. The one is of our kids’ new playhouse that I built last fall, and the other is from our front deck. Click on a picture to make it larger.
The February issue of QST arrived a couple of days ago. I have not had a chance to barely look at it; but it looks like there are some good articles. I also received the bi-monthly edition of QEX which is a publication for Ham experimenters put out by the ARRL. Hopefully, in the next couple of days, I will have some time to sit down and enjoy perusing these great magazines.
Our Family watched “The Ultimate Gift” last week-end. What a wonderful and heartwarming story. I encourage you to see this excellent film; and don’t turn it off before the credits are finished, as the gifts are explained during the credits. We each are given certain gifts to be shared with others. Are we using our God given gifts as they were intended? Hmm, what a thought.
