We celebrated Katie’s 16th birthday last weekend. We all dressed up and went out to dinner at the Jade Garden. We had a great time. We were put in a back room with a couple of other large parties, and one couple. One of the parties began to sing “Happy Birthday” to someone at their table. As soon as they were done, the next party started singing “Happy Birthday” to someone at their table. Of course, we couldn’t resist, we started sing “Happy Birthday” to Katie. By that time, the entire room was singing “Happy Birthday”, laughing, and having a great time. At home, she opened some presents, which included a nice Hope Chest.
The next day, Katie had a couple of friends over for a small private party. They had a good time too.
Unfortunately, we forgot to bring a camera with us when we went out to dinner, but here are some pictures of Katie dressed up, and of her small private party. Click the picture to see more photos.
Well, it happens to all of us. Another birthday. When we are young, we look forward to our birthdays, as we get older, we don’t really care to be reminded that we are growing older.
This year, though, I was looking forward to my birthday. Look at the pictures, and you will notice that one of the presence I got was a new laptop computer. Yeah! I am using it now to write this up. It is a nice Acer Aspire 7740 laptop with a large 17.3 inch screen. And of course, I promptly put the newest version of Ubuntu Linux on it as I use Linux instead of Windows. Very nice!
Alia celebrated her 10th birthday in December. A few days later, she had a small party and a sleep over with a couple of friends. Click the picture to see more from her parties.
On November 28, there was a party helping Missionary Mary Ballenger celebrate her 70th birthday. Mary is a Missionary to Africa and is the Academic Dean at the West Africa Advanced School of Theology (WAAST). It was a very nice time giving honor to this fine servant of God who has dedicated most of her life in His service. Click HERE for more information on WAAST. We love you Mary!

Carol and Desire’ celebrated their birthdays together on July 2nd. It was early for both of them, but as almost always, Carol’s usually occurs during Family Bible Camp, and Desire’s usually occurs during Jr. Teen Camp. This year was no exception, so we relaxed with a day of celebration well ahead of their actual birthdays. They both seemed to enjoy it. Today is Samuel Morse’s birthday. Samuel Morse is the inventor of the Morse Code which many Amateur Radio Operators around the world (including me) use every day for fun and efficient communications. Today, Google celebrated the day by modifying their search logo. Can you decode it? You can visit my Ham Radio web site HERE for more information about Ham Radio.
John’s Mom, Iona, just celebrated her 80th birthday. We had a low keyed party at Barb and Jory’s house. It was a lot of fun. Here are two short videos from the party. See some pictures or send a message to mom HERE. Enjoy!
