On Saturday evening, March 21, Neighborhood Assembly of God had their 2009 Missions Banquet. Our Keynote Speaker was Missionary Andy Raatz, missionary to Moldova. Carol and I had the privilege of traveling to Moldova in October 2008 on a short term missions trip with Neighborhood Assembly. What an awesome time it was. You can read, and see all about it HERE.
Besides being blessed with a challenging message from Andy, on personal love for those we are serving, we were blessed by the music of Cissy Padget. She is Helena’s own singer, song writer, and author. We also heard from Tim Kern, our local missionary to the college campuses of Helena and Chi Alpha. Jeff Larson gave us an update on past projects that we have begun in Moldova, and Craig Charlton was a superb Master of Ceremonies.
Andy, then spoke at our church services on Sunday. We had a good time of prayer for him, his family, Moldova, and the Home of Hope.

We are definately fans of FIREPROOF the movie around the McDougalls’ Home. If you have seen the movie, you know how moving it was when Caleb was now serving the Lord and waiting on God to move in his marriage as Caleb acted in obedience. Listen to this great song by John Waller, as played in the movie FIREPROOF.
If you haven’t seen FIREPROOF yet, check out your local churches for viewing events, or rent it from your neighborhood video rental store, or pick up a copy from your favorite Christian book store. Check out John Waller’s song “While I’m Waiting” by clicking on the video below.
Carol and I went to Moldova on a short term missions trip last fall. We were required to get some vaccines, and a couple of them needed to be administered more than once. Now, six months later, we finally got our last Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccines. This last dosage was required to insure we would be immunized for life. Does that mean we will be going on another another missions trip? We certainly hope we will. Please, pray that if the Lord opens an opportunity again, that we will be financially, bodily, and baby sitter ready to go. That is our hope!
I have never seen the movie “The Cross And The Switchblade“. I received the movie as a Christmas present this past Christmas and viewed the film. If you have never seen the film, it is about a pastor named David Wilkerson who was obedient to the Lord and went to New York City to minister to the gangs. To make a very long story short, many gang members came to the Lord and had their lives were revolutionized. That was fifty years ago.
Fast forward fifty years. At Neighborhood Assembly of God Church today, a group of wonderful ladies from Teen Challenge in Missoula, MT visited us, gave testimonies, and performed a “human video” for us. It was a VERY POWERFUL service, and the presence of God was very “thick”.
What did the movie “The Cross And The Switchblade” and today’s service have in common? That same Pastor David Wilkerson who ministered in the streets of New York City over fifty years ago, is the founder of “Teen Challenge”. The ladies, who’s lives have been changed by the Lord, that visited our service today were a direct result of a pastor that was obedient to the Lord in a different part of the country fifty years ago.
What are you doing for eternity? Do you think that it takes someone great to change the future? As I read the Bible, I am reminded time and time again, that God uses ordinary everyday people who are obedient to Him. Let us obey Him together, and we will “CHANGE THE WORLD!”
FIREPROOF is released today. Check your nearest Christian retailer for this GREAT movie. If you are married, ever have been married, or ever plan on getting married, you NEED to see this movie. Just be warned— Bring your box of tissues, you will need it!
This may sound like a commercial, but it isn’t since I’ve received no money for it. This is more like a public service announcement.
If you are married, or ever plan on getting married, you MUST see FIREPROOF. FIREPROOF will challenge your relationship with God, your spouse, and others. FIREPROOF is due out on DVD on January 27. Out of the movie, came the book, “The Love Dare“, which remains the No. 1 book at Christian retail stores.
I believe some kinds of peer pressure is good, so, I DARE you to see this movie, and I DARE you to take a good look at your own heart to see if it is where it should be. It will be worth it!
Our family was given a couple of group passes to a Dennis Agajanian concert. We have a couple of albums from him, and took the opportunity to see him in concert.
What a concert it was. He was sponsored by our local “Optimist Club“, and the concert was held at a school auditorium in Helena.
Dennis could pick the guitar faster than I could think. He did the Hallelujah Chorus on the guitar! It was fantastic.
Dennis seemed like an ordinary guy, and when the sound system went kaput for a bit, he didn’t skip a beat. He moved off the stage and came down and sat on the steps to it and continued playing. It was awesome. When a guitar string broke in the middle of a selection, he swooshed it out of the way and, again, never missed a beat.
He certainly loves the Lord, and told us plainly what the Lord means to him. He was not intimidated or bashful about it. Click the picture to see a larger view, and visit Dennis’ web site HERE and see all he has done, and purchase a CD.

Last Sunday, Neighborhood Assembly of God had it’s Christmas Program. All of the children were delightful. There was a lot of music and worship. The service ended with the “Praise Team” singing a very humorous but thoughtful song with the aide of hand puppets. Ha!
