On December 1, I went out the door from work and saw a herd of Elk run past the back fence of the parking lot in Helena, MT. I quickly snapped a little video of it. The camera was not set up right and the video turned out too bright, but here it is. 38 elk in Helena, MT. That is another reason I live in Montana!
Sherwood Pictures announced their next movie this evening. “Courageous” will be the fourth film that Sherwood Church has made. The previous three films were Flywheel, Facing The Giants, and Fireproof. Each of Sherwood’s movies has a solid Biblical message that is relevant to today’s culture, and the professional quality of each successive film gets better and better. Our family can hardly wait for their next movie, “Courageous.”
Katie and Desire’ spent much of Friday (Sept. 25, 2009) at Jefferson High School in Boulder. They helped decorate the floats, and get ready for the homecoming parade and game. Desire’ took a video of the parade and here it is.
We had a very fun and eventful Labor Day weekend. We started out camping at our favorite campground. All was great until around midnight when the owners of our neighboring camp arrived at their camper, started their generator and partied until the wee hours of the morning. Katie, Desire’ and Ana were trying to sleep in the tent. We finally had them come into the camper. The next night, they did not party, but came and went a couple of times all through the night. They started the generator in the middle of the night when they arrived.
We had fun days, but we finally decided to come home and sleep in our own beds. We played games, and listened to a portion of the audio book “Black” by Ted Dekker.
On Monday, the girls were thrilled to receive a new kitty (yes, our second cat). She is a rough and tumble kitten that we named Arwen from the Elf Arwen in the Lord of the Rings.
A couple of Sundays ago, Ana was crowned as an Honor Star. The Stars program is part of the Assemblies of Godgirls’ club. To be crowned as an Honor Star, Ana had to fulfill a rigorous set of requirements that involved a lot of Bible reading, and memorization. Ana will also be crowned at Glacier Bible Camp‘s “Family Camp“. Congratulations Ana on a job well done.
Besides Ana, one other young woman named Laura, was also crowned on June 7. Here are a couple of short videos, and a slide show of the crowning.
J.J. graduated from preschool on May 22nd . They had a nice little ceremony that lasted about thirty seconds and here is a video of it. They also had a inflated bouncy toy to play on. Click on a picture to see a larger view. Enjoy!
We just picked up “Come What May” from our local Christian Book Store yesterday. We have been anxious to see this film since before it was actually released.
“Come What May” was made by homeschoolers, Advent Film Group, and Patrick Henry College. This is their first film, and for being their first, it will touch your heart and challenge your convictions. Pick up a copy of “Come What May” and give it a watch. But get ready to be challenged.
Click to see Susan Boyle on "Britain's Got Talent"
I love a good “under dog” story. Here is a true one that is incredibly amazing. Susan Boyle, an unmarried, unemployed Scottish woman, was on “Britain’s Got Talent.” The judges were cynical, the audience was laughing at her, and there were a lot of eye rolling. That all ended about two seconds after she started to sing.

A couple of weeks ago, we finally bit it and purchased a new TV. We got a nice 42 inch Phillips High Def TV. Wow, what a change from our old 20 inch model. We have been enjoying seeing some movies in a whole new light. Some programs are quite different when the picture is big; they are more dramatic and sometimes more scary! We had to modify our entertainment center for the TV to fit. I took a saber saw and cut out part of the cabinet, and here you have it. Click a picture to see a larger view.
On the technical side, the TV is a Phillips model 42PFL5603D/27. It is an LCD TV and has 1080p resolution.
