As a gift to our graduating seniors (Katie, Desire’ and Terry), we all took a fun trip to Seattle June 1 to June 8, 2013. We attended Terry’s (Desire’s boyfriend) graduation, and soon after the event, we wisked him away for the trip. The trip included: Silverwook Theme Park, Leavenworth Washington, Tour of Boeing, Woodland Zoo, Pacific Science Center, Space Needle in the day and at night, Monorail, Experience Music Center and Sci Fi Museum, Ferry trip to Bremerton, Puget Sound Navy Museum, Tour through USS Turner Joy, Pikes Market, Ballard Locks and fish ladder, Golden Gardens Beach, Argosy Harbor Tour, and Underground Seattle Tour. That is a lot of stuff to cover in a week! We also spent a little time visiting a few relatives. Sorry to all that we didn’t get a chance to visit. We were too busy playing tourists!  Click HERE to see lots of pictures from our trip.

It is Christmas time at the McDougalls' Home. Click the picture to see more.

Christmas starts in the McDougalls’ Home the day after Thanksgiving. We love the Christmas season, and celebrate it to the full.  What an exciting time of the year as we remember how Jesus humbled himself and came to this earth as a baby.  We packaged up all of the Thanksgiving decorations and unloaded our store house of Christmas stuff.

On Saturday, we went out and hunted down our Christmas tree.  There wasn’t much snow in the hills.  It will seem more like Christmas when we get some.  Here are some pictures of us getting our tree and putting it up.  The kids are getting old enough to take over some of the decorating tasks, and are excited about getting it all up.  They are decking out their rooms too.

It is Christmas time!

I had my blood test done today to determine what type of blood I have.  I also received my Doctor’s ok to take the trip to Moldova. Carol and I are planning a trip to Moldova with our church on a short term missions trip in October. Wall-E and EVE

Wall-E and EVE

Our family made the rare treck to the local movie theator and saw Wall-E.  This is a wonderful picture created by Pixar about a little robot left on Earth for 700 years after Earth was abandoned.  During this time, Wall-E developed a personality.  If you have a chance to see this great film, take advantage of it.  It is rated G and great for the whole family, whatever the age.  Click the picture to see a larger view.

Desire's 13th Birthday Pictures

Desire's 13th Birthday

We celebrated Desire’s birthday early again this year because it fell, once again, in the middle of Bible Camp.  It was a low-keyed event with just the family.  Click HERE to see some pictures.  Happy Birthday and have a blessed year Desire’.

Carol and I plan on going to Moldova with a group from our church in October.  We applied for our passports on June 6.  Carol received her passport on June 18. I did not receive my passport that day because I made a mistake on the application and had to fill out a simple form to fix the problem.  I received my passport today.  I can hardly believe how fast we got our passports.  One more item checked off the to do list.  Yeah!

Carol and I plan on going to Moldova with a group from our church in October.  We applied for our passports on June 6.  Yesterday, Carol received her passport.  That was twelve days for a passport.  Wow!  As of the time I have written this, I did not receive mine.  Maybe it will be in today’s mail.

See our Moldove page HERE.

Update: After I posted this, I got today’s mail.  I did not get my passport; but instead, I got a notice that I made a clerical error on the application.  I filled out a simple form to correct the error and popped it in the mail.  So, now it is time to wait… wait,,, wait,,,

Full Rainbow

We had a rain shower this after noon that ended with a very beautiful rainbow.  The rainbow looked so close we thought we could practically reach out and touch it.  After I took some pictures of it, we saw, on the pictures, that it was actually a double rainbow.  If you look close, you can see a faint larger rainbow.  I did a sloppy job of stitching two pictures together since the whole rainbow would not fit into one picture.  Click on the picture to see a slide show of this and other pictures from around our home.  What a beautiful picture of God’s continuing promise. (Gen. 9:12-17)
