Tomorrow, we have another meeting for our preparations of our missions trip to Moldova in October. We have only 40 days left, and any loose ends are being tied up.
One thing that is requested of us, is that we be prepared to give our testimonies on how we received Jesus as our Savior. We need something that is short, three to five minutes, and to the point, as if we give our testimony, it will be through a translator, and to a culture different from our own.
Tonight, I went to www.5clicks.com, and prepared a simple short testimony. I also updated my “long version”. If you have received Jesus as your Savior, you should write it down.

Example of permitted liquids on an airplane.
Yesterday, I received my blood type report in the mail; and that is one more thing to mark off of our list of preparations for our trip to Moldova in October. We went shopping the other day and picked up a lot of miscellaneous items. We got two carry on bags, tooth paste, tooth brushes, some small 3 oz. containers for liquids. Remember, now we can carry some three ounce containers filled with liquids as long as they will all fit into a quart zip baggie without them being confiscated at the airports. Some other misc. items include SD memory card, passport holder, personal sized klenex, hand sanitizer, etc, etc, etc.
Check out our Moldova page at www.McDougallsHome.net/moldova for information about our trip. John

I had my blood test done today to determine what type of blood I have. I also received my Doctor’s ok to take the trip to Moldova. Carol and I are planning a trip to Moldova with our church on a short term missions trip in October. Our real inexpensive (Cheap) Luggage
Many of you may know that I am a miser, and get lots of things at good deals. I don’t want to call my lovely wife a miser, but she is very thrifty. We find all kinds of good things for real cheap at garage sales and thrift stores.
This past week, we visited Wal-Mart’s luggage department to look at travel items for our missions trip to Moldova. We did not make a purchase.
Last week-end, we went to several garage sales and at two different places, we came across almost identical luggage. We wanted something with wheels, and just a little smaller than the luggage we usually take on vacations. Smaller? Yes, SMALLER. We are going to attempt to bring the bare essentials with us to Moldova. It will make things much simpler if we can. John

We had our first official meeting at our church for preparations for the missions trip to Moldova, in October, that we will be particitating in with our church. There will be 15 to 17 people going on this trip. We discussed many of the do’s and don’ts about traveling abroad, and the first part of a good teaching about our sufficiency in Christ. Much of the to do lists can be found at our missionary’s web site. Please, pray that all preparations will go fine, both here and in Moldova. Click HERE to see our Moldova page. Blessings to you all! - Our band-aids from our shots, and an extra one for J.J.

- Sticker shock from the first doses.
Today, Carol and I got our first dose of vaccines for our missions trip to Moldova. Believe me when I say that it hurt the pocket book much more than it hurt our arms. J.J. came along and helped the nurse administer the band-aids. Click on the pictures to see a larger view. We got the first dose of hepatitas A, and hepatitas B, along with tetanus. We will need one more dose of Hep A, and two more doses of Hep B to make them complete. Pray for us!

Carol and I plan on going to Moldova with a group from our church in October. We applied for our passports on June 6. Carol received her passport on June 18. I did not receive my passport that day because I made a mistake on the application and had to fill out a simple form to fix the problem. I received my passport today. I can hardly believe how fast we got our passports. One more item checked off the to do list. Yeah!

Carol and I plan on going to Moldova with a group from our church in October. We applied for our passports on June 6. Yesterday, Carol received her passport. That was twelve days for a passport. Wow! As of the time I have written this, I did not receive mine. Maybe it will be in today’s mail.
See our Moldove page HERE.
Update: After I posted this, I got today’s mail. I did not get my passport; but instead, I got a notice that I made a clerical error on the application. I filled out a simple form to correct the error and popped it in the mail. So, now it is time to wait… wait,,, wait,,,

I mentioned that Carol and I started the processes necessary to go to Moldova in October with a team from our church. I mentioned that I sent away for a certified copy of my birth certificate. I found the web site with all the necessary details of what was required and sent it off. I have since gotten it back with no birth certificate. Apparently, I didn’t see the form on the web site I had to fill out. So, I filled one out, and away it went again in the mail. But, anyway, we are back on track with step two.
Also, check the Moldova link at the top on the top of our home page, or the picture in the right hand column of our home page (like the picture on the left of this paragraph) for all our stuff on Moldova. I will be adding content to that page regularly so check back now and then.
